The Lich Ascendancy PoE2 is the endgame pinnacle for Witch builds in Path of Exile 2. Phylactery and the Socketed Jewel Simulator
The defining mechanic of the Lich Ascendancy PoE2 is the Phylactery major node: it grants 100% increased Effect of Socketed Jewel, effectively doubling every stat on your equipped jewel. Spirit Management: The PoE2-Exclusive Resource
Spirit is a new resource introduced in PoE2 that determines how many permanent skill reservations your character can maintain. The Lich Ascendancy PoE2 tree contributes Spirit through two nodes — Affliction Scaling and Profane Bloom — making them mandatory for builds running multiple aura-class skills simultaneously. Every node you see in the planner now displays its Spirit Reserve contribution alongside its primary stat. Under-investing in Spirit causes your curses and minion buffs to drop when you enter high-pressure encounters.
Node Breakdown: Affliction Scaling, Necrotic Rot & Profane Bloom
- Affliction Scaling (minor node):{" "} Replaced the old "Hexes" label with its PoE2 mechanical name. Grants +5% Chaos Penetration and +5 Spirit Reserve. Required prerequisite for Profane Bloom — always allocate this to unlock the Spirit Burst payoff.
- Necrotic Rot (minor node):{" "} The PoE2 rename of legacy "Decay". Provides +10% Chaos Penetration on the path toward Void Beacon. The rot damage-over-time component now stacks multiplicatively with Affliction Scaling curses, making this node core for any Chaos Inquisitor-style Lich build.
- Profane Bloom (major node):{" "} Now interacts directly with the Spirit resource. When cursed enemies explode via Profane Bloom, the burst generates a Spirit surge that temporarily increases your active reservation cap. This makes Profane Bloom mandatory for builds that spike Spirit usage during boss encounters.
- Bone Armour (major node):{" "} Grants +30% Minion Aggression Bonus and +10 Spirit. The Minion Aggression Toggle — PoE2's new per-minion targeting mode — scales its aggression radius with this Ascendancy node, making Bone Armour core in any T17 Citadel minion-clear setup.
