The Ultimate Terraria Lifeform Analyzer Guide
The Terraria Lifeform Analyzer is arguably one of the most frustrating yet essential informational accessories in the game. Unlike most gear, you cannot craft it or farm it from bosses. It is solely acquired by purchasing it from the Traveling Merchant for 5 Gold Coins. Because his inventory is entirely randomized upon arrival, acquiring this item is often the biggest bottleneck for players aiming to craft the ultimate informational accessory: the Cell Phone.
How the Detection Priority Works
When equipped in your accessory slot or simply held in your inventory, our Lifeform Analyzer tracker helps you understand exactly why it displays the name of rare enemies, NPCs, and critters around you. It has a strict Detection Priority Tier List. If multiple rare creatures are nearby, the analyzer will only display the one with the highest priority (Tier 1 being the absolute highest).
For example, if a Nymph (Tier 3) and a Bound Goblin (Tier 1) are both off-screen, the UI will only warn you about the Bound Goblin. Use our interactive Priority Database above to understand exactly what you are tracking.
Crafting the R.E.K. 3000 and Cell Phone
The Lifeform Analyzer is just step one. To clear up your inventory slots, you must combine it with other accessories at a Tinkerer's Workshop.
- Step 1 (R.E.K. 3000): Combine the Lifeform Analyzer with a Radar (found in surface chests) and a Tally Meter (dropped by Dungeon enemies).
- Step 2 (PDA): Combine the R.E.K. 3000 with the Goblin Tech, Fish Finder, and GPS.
- Step 3 (Cell Phone): Finally, combine the PDA with a Magic Mirror or Ice Mirror. Use our interactive tracker above to check off your progress!
